Thanks for setting this up Jon. I like what Matt R. said “These worshipers gather beneath the shadow of the Cross, where an undying devotion took the Son of God to His death. Alive in the power of His resurrection, they respond to such an outpouring with an unquenchable offering of their own…”

Brings to mind this passage from John Piper’s book “What Jesus demands from the World”.
John 4:23-24 The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
What matters now is not where you worship but whether you worship God in accordance with the truth and whether your spirit is authentically awakened and moved by that truth. All worship should be through Jesus and of Jesus. The key new truth is that worship happens through Jesus. He is the temple where we encounter God. This is true first because he poured out his blood “for the forgiveness of sins” (Matt. 26:28) and “gave his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45) and opened the way through His own crucified and risen body for us to be reconciled with God (John 3:16,36). There is no way that sinners could offer acceptable worhip to God without having Jesus’ blood as a go-betweeen with God.”

“True worship comes only from spirits made alive and sensitive by the quickening of the Sprit or God.”

Praise the LORD!

Just a comment of last weeks service 2/18/2007. I could sense the Holy Spirit in the service. I believe it started with the music. You could feel the Comforter direct the flow of music. The sanctuary was filled with His present. This continued with the message from pastor. My pray during the service was “Come Holy Spirit, you are welcome in this place”. I hope this is the prayer of us all.
